Sky Just Handed Millions of Customers Free Disney+ and Yes, There Is a Catch

The Streaming Super-Bundle Has Arrived

If you are a Sky customer who has been quietly paying for Disney+ on the side, today might just be your lucky day. As of 17 March 2026, Sky has rolled Disney+ Standard with Ads into its Ultimate TV package at absolutely no extra cost. Millions of households across the UK now have access to the full Disney+ library without lifting a finger or opening their wallet.

Well, without opening it further, anyway.

What You Actually Get

The tier bundled in is Disney+ Standard with Ads, which normally sets you back £5.99 a month as a standalone subscription. That means the complete catalogue of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and all the Hulu and Star content that has made its way to UK shores. Not a bad freebie by any measure.

Sky Cinema subscribers also get a bonus treat: a dedicated Disney+ Cinema channel landing on EPG channel 305, featuring around 50 titles. Think of it as a curated highlight reel for people who cannot be bothered to scroll through yet another streaming app.

Who Qualifies (and Who Does Not)

Most Sky Q customers on Sky Signature or Sky Entertainment packages are eligible for the upgrade. If you fall into that camp, Disney+ should already be sitting in your apps, ready to go.

However, and this is the catch worth noting, customers on TV Essentials or Sky Basics packages are not included. If you are on one of those plans, you will need to upgrade your package first. Sky Essential TV subscribers who have added Sky Cinema to their deal are eligible, though, so there is a sliver of hope if you have been splashing out on movies.

Already Paying for Disney+? Here Is Some Good News

If you have been paying for a standalone Disney+ subscription alongside your Sky package, migrating across could save you over £70 a year. That is not life-changing money, but it is enough for a decent meal out or, more realistically, another streaming service you will forget to cancel.

For those who fancy an ad-free experience, upgrades are available. You can bump up to Disney+ Standard for an additional £4 a month, or go the whole hog with Disney+ Premium at an extra £9 a month, which throws in 4K, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. You only pay the difference, which is a fair deal.

The Bigger Picture: Sky's Streaming Super-Bundle

This is not a one-off gesture of generosity from Sky. It is part of a broader strategy announced back in February 2026 to build what the company is calling a "world first" streaming super-bundle. Here is what Sky Ultimate TV will include by the end of March 2026:

  • Disney+ Standard with Ads
  • Netflix Standard with Ads
  • HBO Max Basic with Ads (launching 26 March 2026)
  • discovery+ Entertainment
  • Hayu (arriving July 2026)

All five services bundled together for £24 a month, which represents over £20 worth of streaming apps included in the price. The current Sky Ultimate TV price of £22 a month rises to £24 from 1 April 2026, so yes, part of this generosity is being quietly funded by a price bump. Surprised? Neither are we.

The Verdict

For existing Sky customers on qualifying packages, this is genuinely good value. Getting Disney+ baked into your subscription without having to do anything is the kind of upgrade everyone can appreciate. The ad-supported tier is perfectly watchable, and the option to upgrade at a discount keeps things flexible.

Just keep an eye on that April price increase. Sky giveth, and Sky also adjusteth the direct debit.
